This Privacy Policy explains how the Company ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use Lency (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use.

1. Definitions

"Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.

"Connected Account" means a third-party platform account (such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn) you authorize us to access on your behalf.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide to Us Directly

  1. Account information: name, email address, and password (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google).
  2. Business/brand information you enter or that we derive from a website URL you provide, such as your company name, niche, and business description.
  3. Content you upload or create: images, video, audio, captions, and other material.
  4. Payment information, processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we do not store your full card number.
  5. Communications you send us, for example when you contact us for support.

2.2 Data Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data (such as which features you use and how often).

3. Personal Data We Receive from Connected Accounts

When you connect a third-party platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn) via OAuth, we receive an access token and account-level data such as your username, account ID, and — where you grant the relevant permission and to the extent needed to operate the Services — performance metrics (such as views, likes, and comments) for content published through Lency. We only request the scopes needed for the features you use, such as scheduling and publishing content or reading performance metrics.

4. How We Use Your Personal Data

4.1

  1. To provide the Services: create and manage your account, generate content, and publish or schedule it to your Connected Accounts.
  2. To operate AI features: your inputs (such as a product description or uploaded image) are sent to third-party AI model providers solely to generate the output you request.
  3. To process payments and manage your subscription or credit balance through Stripe.
  4. To communicate with you about your account, updates to the Services, or in response to a support request.
  5. To maintain the security and integrity of the Services, and to comply with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Your Personal Data

We share personal data only in the following circumstances:

  1. Service providers: Supabase (authentication and database), Cloudflare (media storage), Stripe (payments), and third-party AI model providers (to generate images, video, and text you request).
  2. Connected platforms: content you choose to publish is sent to the relevant platform (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn) at your direction.
  3. Legal reasons: if required to comply with a law, regulation, or valid legal process.
  4. Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Third-Party Links and Platforms

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, and you may connect third-party platforms to the Services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; please review their own privacy policies.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from staying signed in.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most of your information directly in your account settings, disconnect a Connected Account at any time, or delete your account entirely.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption of access tokens and passwords at rest, and access controls limiting who can view your data internally. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

11. Where We Store Your Data

Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers (including Supabase and Cloudflare), which may process and store data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

12. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Services, and update the "Last updated" date above.
